The mobile society: effects of global sourcing and network organisation
نویسنده
چکیده
The notion of a mobile society needs to be rooted in the newly emerging forms of business and organisation of the global economy. In this paper we explore the five stages of business focus evolution over the past 50 years, with a special attention paid to the current, the fifth stage. From the given and fixed processes, through their re-engineering and extension to networks, we have moved up to their disaggregation and distribution. This is a remarkable journey in search of competitive advantage and its main acceleration is beginning now. The future of business and entrepreneurship is more remarkable than its recent past. We focus on global sourcing as the main driver of attaining global competitiveness and sustainability. It is becoming the interest of all network participants that their relationships are competitive, sustainable and stable on a global scale. The main point of this paper is that mobile knowledge and learning are brought forth by the underlying global forces of mobile business and society.

The present study is a scholarly attempt in investigating the effects of videos on facilitating the process of migration for the Iranian students. To this end, our case studies partici...
متن کاملKnowledge Translation in Healthcare – Towards Understanding its True Complexities; Comment on “Using Complexity and Network Concepts to Inform Healthcare Knowledge Translation”
This commentary argues that to fully appreciate the complexities of knowledge transfer one firstly has to distinguish between the notions of “data, information, knowledge and wisdom,” and that the latter two are highly context sensitive. In particular one has to understand knowledge as being personal rather than objective, and hence there is no form of knowledge that a-priori is more authoritat...
متن کاملGrowing Trade in Intermediate Goods: Outsourcing, Global Sourcing or Increasing Importance of MNE Networks?
Trade in intermediate goods as one possible link between rising trade and foreign direct investment is examined. To explain growing intermediate goods trade, three hypotheses are brought forward: outsourcing, global sourcing and the increasing importance of MNE networks. These hypotheses are tested by employing a cross-section framework, which uses OECD input-output table data, and an analysis,...

متن کاملNavigation of a Mobile Robot Using Virtual Potential Field and Artificial Neural Network
Mobile robot navigation is one of the basic problems in robotics. In this paper, a new approach is proposed for autonomous mobile robot navigation in an unknown environment. The proposed approach is based on learning virtual parallel paths that propel the mobile robot toward the track using a multi-layer, feed-forward neural network. For training, a human operator navigates the mobile robot in ...
